During China's economic reform period in the early 1990's, Jiangshu International Trade Town was a major project in the infrastructure modernization plan. Designated as a free trade zone, Jiangshu is a residential, commercial, as well as a light to medium industrial area, with over 3,000 people living and working there. The trade town was designed to be the center for the export of mechanical and electronic products made in China. It contains a modern market with permanent exposition centers, and is equipped with a nationwide computer network connected to all other networks in china. |
