The Sandi Group (TSG) is currently seeking applicants for the position of a Teacher Training Advisor (TTA) for a USAID project, based in Afghanistan for 18 months with the possibility of an extension to five years depending on funding and award of contract. The project is aimed at improving education, training and technical skills in Afghanistan to assist young men and women in acquiring jobs.

Duties: The TTA leads efforts to identify, design, develop and implement Training of Teachers (ToT) programs for Technical, Vocational, Education and Training (TVET) and business curricula in the private and public sectors. The TTA provides professional and technical recommendation for further development of teachers in the related areas, and introduces global and regional academic standards to the private and public training and education providers. The TTA develops innovative ways of strengthening strategic linkages among local teacher networks to other academic networks worldwide to develop an information and advocacy network. Finally, the TTA leads mobilization and management of potential short-term technical assistants (international consultants).

Qualifications:

• Minimum 8 years experience in Training Teachers, preferably in an international context
• 2 years of international experience is desired
• Proven track record of overseeing and supervising staff
• Fluency in English is required
• Fluency in any of Afghanistan’s dialects is desired
